With Ollie’s Orchestra, you have the opportunity to bring music to children with cancer in your community and in communities around the United States.

Because of the help of people like you, children with cancer have the opportunity to explore their new instruments, take lessons and experience the joys of music.

1) Fundraise or Promote for Ollie’s Orchestra!

  • Become an ambassador for Ollie’s Orchestra – use your network to promote our work and mission!

  • Create a Facebook or other social media fundraiser – popular for birthdays!

  • Represent Ollie’s Orchestra at your upcoming event (music festivals, arts fairs, other)! Register below and we will reach out to provide the appropriate materials.

  • Join us to together create an amazing network of musicians, music therapists and artists to play music for and/or teach music to children living with and fighting cancer; or register to perform at a future Ollie’s Orchestra event.

2) Instrument Packing: If located in the Philadelphia region, opportunities may exist to pack instruments for shipping – contact us for information on timing and availability.

3) Musical Performance: Create YouTube Video for Ollie’s Orchestra channel

  • “Hello from Ollie’s Orchestra! My name is________” and I will be performing ________ for you today. 3, 2, 1…”

  • Please note all songs must be public domain – you can find good lists of available songs online by googling for public domain music

4) Storage & Shipping: Donate your space for storage and/or shipping of Ollie’s Orchestra instruments! Contact us for information on timing and availability.

5) Research Project: Scholarly article library

  • Identify relevant scholarly articles & save link for Ollie’s Orchestra library

  • Provide a short summary of articles in library

  • Create literature review

    Examples: Music x cancer/medical treatment; Power of music/Benefits of playing music

6) Research Project: Review nonprofit “Friends of” groups and identify models for Ollie’s Orchestra to replicate

  • Develop friends of fundraising ideas

  • Identify example membership dues and titles used by peer organizations

  • Identify relevant perks offered by peer organizations

7) Social Media: Write social media posts for Ollie’s Orchestra to maintain stock library for future use

8) Marketing: Create flyer, short video or other marketing material for Ollie’s Orchestra program specific or broad for organization

9) Web Design: Calling all squarespace superusers! Ideas for web design changes to improve user experience and potentially help implement site upgrades
